Beyond limits

Beyond limits | playground installation

A site-specific intervention created during the COVID-19 lockdown, this work reimagines the playground—a space once marked as off-limits—as a place of color, playfulness, and comfort in a time of restriction.
Using red-and-white marking tape, typically associated with prohibition and danger, I transformed a symbol of negation into a material of expression. The tape-unrolled, stretched, woven, and wrapped around the familiar structures of the playground—generated a new visual language that offered a moment of joy and wonder within the urban landscape.
Though physical play was no longer possible, the intervention invited a different kind of engagement: a visual game, a momentary celebration, a reinterpretation of space. The playground, usually a site for movement, became a stage for reflection and delight.

Created as part of the “Design in Action” course in the M.Des program at Shenkar College, guided by Meirav Peretz, Dafna Krone, and Dr. Hanna Freund-Shertok.
